Since 2018, the OeGDV Clinician Scientist Research Fellowship in dermatovenereology is open for applications. The goal of this fellowship is to promote the career of clinician scientists with a clear scientific interest and to provide them with protected time to carry out research projects.

The ÖGDV intends to promote research of young clinician scientists. Eligible are:

  • MD or MD/PhD not more than 10 years after the last graduation (minus time for childcare)
  • Signed statement about career goal in research in dermatovenereology

  • At least 1 year of residency training in dermatology and venereology, preferably at an Austrian department of dermatology
  • At least 1 year of research experience (PhD work, postdoctoral fellowship, research year abroad)
  • Active member of OeGDV, highest possible career stage: assistant professor (associate professor excluded, no department/division chair)
  • Strong institutional commitment with written confirmation for protected research time
  • Cannot hold other research development support for the applied project at the time of funding Other formerly awarded and/or concurrently funded research projects are advantageous (FWF, OeNB, EU etc.). Other financial project support including industry sponsorship should be listed.
