PROJECT START, BUDGETING AND CO-FINANCING

  • Human ethic and animal protocol approvals as well as statements about protected research time by department chair are prerequisite for the transfer of funds.
  • The funds can either be used for one full year of research or two years of protected research time at 50%. Co-financing (e.g. reagents, 50% clinical work) must be guaranteed by the department.
  • Description of how additional costs will be funded beyond this award.
  • National and international collaborations are desirable. Travel costs must be covered by the department, i.e. they are not included in this award.
  • At the time of project start, 50% of funds will be transferred to a research account of the institution. The funds are exclusively awarded for the applicant and cannot be used for other purposes. No indirect cost can be financed. No transfer to other institutions is allowed.
  • Applicant must notify ÖGDV about co-financing of the same project by other sources. If the project is entirely funded by other sources, ÖGDV may retract its decision and request a refund.
  • In case of change of institution, the OeGDV requires the submission of a revised application for approval.

REPORTING

  • Flexible use of funds with respect to personal versus reagent costs, but must be explained. No money transfer one year after end of project.
  • Within 5 months after project start a research report must be submitted before the second half of the funding can be transferred.
  • After completion of the project, a final budget must be submitted.
